About Janesko

Janesko believes in a modernist approach to her work. Each stroke of the brush or pencil is deliberate and communicates a story that begins with the mind of an artist and is completed in the private home of the collector. Janesko’s goal is to transport the viewer to a destination where lines blur and reality slowly slips away into a blurred and layered dreamscape.

Jennifer utilizes acrylic, oil, charcoal, pencil, watercolor and ink. Images are created on board, paper and canvas. The artist chooses the best material for expressing each individual concept.

Her abstract work is derived from the landscapes that surround her as she moves through the world.  Each canvas is a guided mirage of moments, layered in her mind and uncovered in her painting technique.  The artist is also dedicated to a body of female figurative work that expresses the human experience in freeze-frame moments of grief, wonder, sensuality, strength and pensiveness.  Many of her figurative pieces are created in black and white to remove the visual noice of color and extract a deeply personal moment.

Janesko has displayed and sold her fine art nationally and internationally. The artist is collaborating with General Public in Los Angeles, resulting in a collection of prints chosen by Portia de Rossi for Restoration Hardware. Her work has been featured in hotels and restaurants, and on wine bottles and Gibson guitars. Janesko’s most recent collaboration is with Geometry House in San Clemente, CA and Look Walls in Dallas.

When the artist is not in her Kansas studio, she is pursuing her love of travel, photography and gardening.
